Penrith Plaza (1993)

Lend Lease Design

AG Public Art was approached by Lend Lease Design to provide assistance in the extensive refurbishment of Penrith plaza. As well as creating a signage and wayfinding program the company was also commissioned to create a civic art centre piece in the main entrance hall of the plaza.

The final design consisted 2.4m diameter sculpted globe sitting atop four 10m tall cast iron columns on a stone base. The sphere was created using rolled steel while the continents were plasma cut using curved templates to give the desired curvature.
