Origami Tigers (2010)

Chris Bosse

City of Sydney

In time for the Chinese New Year of the Tiger, 'Origami Tigers' were commissioned by the City of Sydney to raise awareness of the animal's endangered status.
Originally displayed outside Customs House, they have since travelled to Singapore, Berlin, LA and beyond as part of the World Wildlife Fund's travelling exhibition.

The tigers come to life through internal lighting and translucent Barrisol cladding, supported by a 200kg lightweight aluminium frame. Each tiger was 2.5m tall x 7.5m long

AG Public Art undertook the design development, manufacture and project management of this project.
